Luke Matthews joined the Star 102.5 team in August of 1998. A life-long resident of Central Iowa, Luke currently lives in Ankeny with his wife, Susan and their three cats, Basil, Sydney and Cher. When Luke isn’t on the air, he works for Star 102.5’s parent company designing radio station websites all across the country (including this one). After work, it’s a safe bet that Luke is catching live music somewhere in the Midwest! A self-proclaimed “concert junkie,” Luke travels all over to see his favorite artists like Kelly Clarkson, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Green Day, Sara Bareilles, Graham Colton, Stone Temple Pilots and a myriad of others.
If he’s not taking in live music, Luke is likely enjoying sports! He’s a die-hard Iowa State Cyclone, a huge Green Bay Packers fan and also loves his Chicago White Sox. He even occasionally gets back to his alma mater, Valley High School to catch the Tigers play.
Luke’s favorite places in Central Iowa are Jack Trice Stadium on game days, the Iowa Events Center, Jordan Creek Town Center, Court Avenue and the East Village. Luke tries to visit as many local restaurants as he can and says he loves Ankeny’s Leaning Tower of Pizza, Django, Sam & Gabe’s and Baby Boomers among others.
