Combat Hunger Supporters

STAR 102.5 is the station making a difference in Central Iowa. That’s why we support great family events like Kids Fest, The Des Moines Arts Festival and Nitefall on the River. And we lead the community in fundraising efforts like Ken and Colleen’s Kids, a radiothon for the Children’s Miracle Network and Combat Hunger, an annual food drive raising over 1.5 million pounds of food for the Food Bank of Iowa over the past nineteen years. At STAR 102.5 we do more than support the community of Des Moines…we embrace it and become part of it. We’re the station with Big Ken and Colleen in the morning and Today’s Best Variety All Day. We are STAR 102.5.

Mercy Medical Center has more than a 100-year history of serving the needs of our community and we're pleased to extend our mission in collaborating with our neighbors to support Combat Hunger, a program that benefits many in the Des Moines area community.

The Iowa Motor Truck Association is the statewide trade association that proudly serves as the voice of the industry and represents thousands of folks that maintain their livelihood through the trucking industry. Trucks have a big and strong presence in Iowa and we are proud to be a visible force behind the success of Combat Hunger. In addition to being a huge supporter for Combat Hunger, Iowa’s trucking industry is called on regularly to help out by transporting goods to flood ravaged communities or delivering aid and relief to communities destroyed by natural disasters that are devastating and crippling to the community. Time after time, Iowa’s trucking industry has stepped up and delivered and that commitment to the people of the State of Iowa remains strong and is an important priority of The Iowa Motor Truck Association.
