Big Ken grew up in the bustling village of Fort Madison, Iowa. After growing older, and nearly completing a whole year and a half at the University of Iowa, Ken embarked on his radio tour. After stops in Green Bay, Hibbing (Minnesota) and Springfield, IL, Ken landed at Star 102.5 in 1999. Big Ken lives in the Drake neighborhood with his wife Christen, son Theo, daughters Megan and Lucy and their dog Harold. Ken loves the Cubs, the Bears, the Hawkeyes and sitting on his porch.
Colleen Kelly
Colleen grew up in Lockport, Illinois. Her first stint on radio was that of a newswoman. However, after a slew of mispronounced words, they moved her to mornings. She joined Big Ken and Star 102.5 in 2000. Colleen lives in Beaverdale with her two cats Fatty and Sassy. If you’re outside, you’ll probably spot Colleen riding her bike or running, as she is a triathlon enthusiast. Oh, and she also loves ice cream… preferably Breyer’s Mint Chocolate Chip (because they put actual mini-chocolate chips in it).
Oh, and November 25th, 2009 she got engaged to her fiancee Justin!!!
Producer Kurt
Kurt grew up in Vernon Hills, Illinois. He graduated from Drake in 2000 and became an intern at STAR 102.5. At a staff meeting a few months later, the question was asked “Who wants to answer phones for Big Ken and Colleen?” Kurt was the only one who raised his hand, and thus, a producer was born. Kurt recently moved to Urbandale with his wife Jennifer and their three cats, Molly, Lucy and Sammy. Kurt is an idiot Cubs fan, loves the Packers, the Hawkeyes and Buffalo Wings.
Kurt and his wife are expecting their first child, Baby MJ, in August!
