Marianne is a life long resident of Des Moines. She’s a graduate of Valley High School and Drake University. She is the youngest of three kids and the only girl. She describes herself as a “daddy’s girl!”
Marianne’s love of radio started at Valley’s KWDM. While there, she was part of a morning show very popular with the high school crowd. She also went on to host an afternoon show and in her senior year was named Station Manager. Marianne credits her radio instructor, Brian Christensen for instilling in her a love of broadcasting.
Marianne joined the STAR 102.5 team in 1998. In 2004, she put radio aside for a few years as she became the head of Marketing for the (then new) Jordan Creek Town Center. Marianne was instrumental in the early success of Jordan Creek. In 2007, Marianne was named one of the Des Moines Business Record's “40 Under 40,” an honor bestowed to people making a difference in Central Iowa. Marianne was the youngest of her entire induction class.
In 2005, Marianne rejoined the STAR 102.5 staff. In 2008, Marianne left Jordan Creek and came back full time to STAR 102.5 as Director of Marketing.
When she’s not working, Marianne enjoys working out, movies, concerts, dancing and anything that is fun in Des Moines! Some of her favorite STAR artists include Coldplay, David Gray and Matt Nathanson.
