Clive After Five is an outdoor event, featuring great bands and cold drinks in a social atmosphere, where all can enjoy themselves after a long workweek. The Clive Jaycees host this event on Fridays throughout the summer from 5 to 8:00 p.m. You must be 21 or older to attend. Please, no pets allowed.
ADMISSION
Admission to Clive After Five is $5, which includes two drink tickets and admission to the park and live bands. Drink tickets will be given to participants at the gate with your drink cup.
PARKING
Parking is available on side streets around Linnan Park. Attendees should be prepared to walk a block or two.
DRINK TICKETS
Additional drink tickets are available for $2 each from the extra tickets stand on the East side of Linnan Park. Look for the picnic table with the flag to purchase additional tickets.
Tickets purchased are good throughout the 2007 Clive After Five season and good for any beverage.
FREQUENT FIVERS PASS
Frequent Fivers includes seven (7) admissions and cost $28 per pass, which is a savings of $7. Frequent Fivers are punch card style, so the purchaser needs to bring the pass with them to get admission to Clive After Five. They can use one punch per week or use them all-in-one night for themselves and six friends. Frequent Fivers can bypass the line to purchase admission, and go directly through the Frequent Fiver line.
PLASTIC HANDLE COLOR CHANGE MUGS
Plastic mugs are available for purchase at the Extra Ticket table for $3 each or two for $5, on the East side of Linnan Park. They hold two more ounces than a regular cup and can be filled for one ticket. The mugs have a handle, so the beverage will stay cooler! The mug also changes to the color blue when a cold beverage is added. The mugs include the Clive After Five logo and can be brought back each week.
FRESH BEER FRIDAY
The last Friday of each month, Clive After Five will be hosting Fresh Beer Fridays. The Bud Light and Budweiser beer served at Clive After Five will be will be brewed in St. Louis and shipped fresh to Clive After Five within 24-hours of being brewed. The dates include May 26, June 30, July 28 and August 25.
PROCEEDS FROM CLIVE AFTER FIVE
Clive After Five is the Clive Jaycees' main fundraiser for the year. In the last seven years, the Clive Jaycees have donated more than $350,000 to local community organizations. Twice yearly, allocations are distributed to organizations in the Des Moines metro area. Community organizations receiving donations in the past include: The Heart Connection, Amanda the Panda, Animal Rescue League, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Cystic Fibrosis, Hope Ministries, Festival of Trees, Girl Scouts, Camp Courageous and many departments within the city of Clive. In addition, the Clive Jaycees offer the Matt Benjamin Memorial Scholarship program. Two local high school seniors are awarded $1,500 each on the basis of community involvement, academics and financial need.
WEATHER/CANCELLATION
If Cliver After Five is to be cancelled due to rain or bad weather; it is most often called off by 3:00pm the day of the event. STAR 102.5 will make the announcement and the cancellation will be posted here at the Clive After Five website.
